Ghasem Askari-Nasab said that since the recent war began, the process of vessels carrying essential goods arriving at Shahid Beheshti and Shahid Kalantari ports in Chabahar has continued without interruption, with berthing, unloading, and loading operations ongoing.
He added that the imported shipments include essential goods and animal feed needed by the country, which play a significant role in meeting public needs and market stability.
Askari-Nasab, noting the region’s special conditions and the impact of recent developments on maritime transport, stated that despite challenges arising from the war and restrictions imposed on some maritime routes, Chabahar Port has maintained port operations and service continuity, effectively contributing to the continuation of foreign trade and supply of needed goods.
Emphasizing Chabahar Port’s privileged position as Iran’s largest oceanic port, he said: “Due to its direct access to open waters and being outside the Strait of Hormuz, this port has become one of the most important entry routes for essential goods in the current situation, bearing a significant share in maintaining the supply chain and supporting the domestic market.”
He noted that Chabahar Port’s capacities, infrastructure, and advanced equipment enable it to provide services to various types of vessels and cargo groups, with all port and customs processes operating at full readiness.
Askari-Nasab stressed that Chabahar Port remains ready to receive and unload all types of import and export shipments, fully committed to supporting maritime trade and meeting the country’s needs.
